…I know, I know, vampires, ugh. UGH. Look, I didn’t set out to write this, okay? It just happened.
There’s no romance (it’s about siblings) but it’s still a YA Vampire Thing. It’s only a short story (clocking in just under 7,000 words) but it’s a good story, one I’m extremely proud of.
It’s also supremely me. People who’ve known me for any length of time, online or in person, will probably read it and go “Yes, this is what expect Tori’s writing to sound like.”
And, just for the record, the protagonist, Molly, is the more like I was in high school than any character I’ve written thus far. Most of my protagonists are wildly different that I am or ever was, because I am not the sort of person likely to go on interesting adventures if I can’t wear my pajamas and get a full eight hours of sleep.
Anyhow, if you’d like to read it, I’ve posted it here: What Once Was Lost.
I hope you enjoy it. I think it turned out pretty well, for a YA thing with vampires.
